Foundation for Research and Advocacy, hereinafter referred to as IRADA, is a civil society organization aimed at catalyzing participatory reforms and development through innovative research, proactive policy strategies, and vigorous capacity-building initiatives.
Registered as a not-for-profit organization under Section 42 of the Companies Act with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), IRADA undertakes research, advocacy, and capacity-building initiatives to promote and support fundamental freedoms through enabling legal environment, technological advancement, and access to information.
Led by three young women having expertise in human rights law, development communication, and gender mainstreaming, the organization is a successor to IRADA Trust, which was set up in 2011 by senior journalists and legal experts to promote: inclusivity and pluralism; transparency and governance; freedom of expression and media development; rule of law and legislative reforms.
